The session “Shaping Polish Design” continues the discussion sparked by the May report on the state and challenges of Poland’s design sector. The issues it raises – from the economic role of design and systemic gaps to financial barriers and emerging trends such as AI and sustainable practices – remain pressing and call for long-term, systemic solutions rather than quick fixes.

This talk, led by Aleksandra Szymańska, Director of the Institute of Creative Industries, will be a chance to revisit the debate on the future of Polish design and consider what it will take to strengthen its international visibility.

Aleksandra Szymańska – cultural manager, cultural policy specialist, and sociologist. For many years she was connected with the music and later the publishing industry. Director, author of the concept and strategy of the City Culture Institute in Gdańsk (2011–2024). Initiator of events such as Narracje, Gdańsk Literary Meetings Found in Translation, Schopenhauer Festival, and City Projections. Since July 2024, she has been the Director of the Institute of Creative Industries.

What makes a city a brand? How can its spirit, energy, and ambitions be translated into a message that attracts people and investment?

At the East Creative Conference, Alex from Namogo will take us behind the scenes of one of Europe’s most inspiring city branding projects – “The City of Creators” for Iași, Romania.

Awarded Gold at the Transform Awards Europe 2023 in London, this project is far more than a logo. It’s a story about a city that embraces creativity, openness, and the future and invites everyone to become its co-creator.

What happens when chaos becomes the beginning of something new, and a system gives it lasting form?

At East Creative Conference 2025, Maroš Ľuba –  Partner & Creative Director at Studio ECHT – will explore this balance. He will show how consciously embracing “disorder” can become the foundation of a coherent and enduring brand identity.

For over a decade, Maroš has been shaping brands across Europe and the USA, helping them grow in a scalable and sustainable way. In his talk, he will:
• explain how to bring structure where there seems to be only chaos,
• show how to uncover hidden patterns and transform them into identity systems,
• share practical insights on building frameworks that give brands longevity.

This will be a story about how chaos and order are not opposites – but together, they can create a brand that truly comes alive.

Can public space transform the face of post-industrial districts and prefab housing estates? At the East Creative Conference, Justina Muliuolytė – urbanist, lecturer at Vilnius Tech, and co-founder of PUPA / Life Over Space will answer this question.

PUPA is an international urbanism studio from Lithuania, recognized with multiple awards for projects that combine creative design thinking with strategic urban visions. Their work spans city planning, landscape architecture, public space design, and sustainable mobility – all focused on creating vibrant, inclusive, and people-friendly cities.

In her presentation, Justina will show how to:

– revitalize large industrial-era housing estates (Klaipėda, Kyiv),

– transform heritage into creative hubs (Panevėžys, park and manor renewal projects),

– redesign car-dominated avenues into pedestrian-friendly boulevards (Kaunas).

It will be a story of moving from grey to green, from the industrial city to the creative city – where public space becomes a place of community, activity, and life.

GRAU architects: Founded in 2014 by Andrej Olah and Filip Marcak, we are working on different scales and projects, always designing with respect to the context. We experiment with authentic materials and different approaches. We see each project as a whole but we also pay attention to its details. Simply put, we enjoy the playful process of transforming a vision into a realization.

Andrej and Filip will tell about every blueprint hides a few punchlines.

From startups to unicorns. The real backstage of industrial design is a mix of chaos, laughter, and inspiration.
At East Creative Conference 2025, we’ll hear this story from two perspectives – Lukas Avėnas will share his insights in an online presentation, while on stage the team from Tukas EV, creators of HR Bank, will reveal the challenges and breakthroughs of bringing a product from concept to market.

This is a story of what happens when theory collides with reality: absurd challenges and even more absurd solutions, breakdowns and breakthroughs, mistakes worth laughing at, and discoveries that truly reshape how products are made. It’s an honest, anecdote-filled look into the world of design and technology – showing that the beauty lies in the creative chaos where ideas turn into tangible products.

Lukas Avėnas – Lithuanian industrial designer and design strategist, working mainly in consumer electronics, wearables, and accessories. With over 8 years of experience collaborating with teams across Europe and the U.S., his portfolio includes award-winning products such as Pulsetto – a vagus nerve stimulation wearable for stress reduction – and HR Bank, an exercise-bike + home-energy system created together with Tukas EV.

Tukas EV – a Lithuanian technology company shaping the future of home energy. Previously responsible for building the first Lithuanian electric car, the team combines decades of expertise in engineering, industrial design, and energy systems. Their flagship product, HR Bank, is a compact energy storage system that doubles as a power-generating exercise bike. It can store up to 2 kWh of electricity from pedaling, solar panels, or the grid – powering devices, running appliances, or providing backup during outages. Awarded the iF Gold Award and Red Dot Award in 2025, HR Bank represents a leap forward in practical, design-driven energy solutions and highlights Tukas EV’s ambition to bring Lithuanian innovation to the global stage.

That’s what Rene Wawrzkiewicz will explore in his talk “How to be a visual designer and graphic artist in Poland?”. He will share the skills essential for working in the local market and collaborating with Polish clients. Expect proven methods, practical techniques and simple tricks that make everyday design work easier. He’ll also reveal the real – and sometimes difficult – backstage of the industry – how the market truly operates and the unwritten rules every designer has to face. This session will serve as a valuable guide for students and young professionals.

Rene Wawrzkiewicz hardly needs an introduction, but here it is. He is a design curator, cultural animator, and event organizer. Co-founder of Mamastudio – one of the first branding studios in Poland – and of the Association of Applied Graphic Designers (STGU). He also co-founded the Polish Graphic Design Foundation and the Network of Eastern European Design. For years, he has curated and coordinated key projects dedicated to Polish visual design, including the Polish Graphic Design Awards, the conference series Polish Graphic Design Talks, and the international promotion program The Design Network in Asia. He is also a regular contributor to the German magazine Slanted.

The Hungarian architectural studio Konkrét has always approached buildings as unified works – from the very first sketch to the final detail. Their practice soon expanded beyond architecture to include interior and exhibition design, creating spaces where form and content are inseparably connected.

Working under Hungarian conditions, however, brings significant challenges. With limited artistic education and little openness toward contemporary architecture, convincing stakeholders of the value of such projects requires substantial effort. On top of this, the studio is often expected to deliver high-quality results with budgets far below the European average.

Through the example of the Mindszentyneum Visitor Center, Konkrét will share how they navigate these realities – turning constraints into discoveries and compromises into creative solutions, proving that architecture can truly function as a work of art

Ágnes Deigner

Ágnes Deigner is an architect and co-founder of Konkrét Stúdió, a Budapest-based practice specializing in culturally rooted public buildings and interiors. Her work combines respect for heritage and materiality with functionality and spatial coherence. Since 2012, she has also been teaching at BME’s Department of Urban Planning, while in her practice she focuses on heritage architecture and public projects with a strong emphasis on user experience and spatial quality.

Péter Sónicz is an architect and co-founder of Konkrét Stúdió, where since 2014 he has helped shape an integrated design approach that unites concept, detail, and function. His work emphasizes clarity, spatial narrative, and material sensitivity, spanning residential, public, and exhibition projects — including the award-winning House in the Walnut Grove and the Mindszentyneum cultural center. He believes architecture should not only function well but also resonate emotionally and intellectually, even within limited budgets.

Every design project begins with a thoughtful design process – one that analyses context, identifies industry-specific challenges, understands user needs, and often goes beyond expectations. Kasia Kabo and Tomek Pydo of KABO & PYDO will share recent case studies that highlight their approach to discovering innovative solutions and why the product ended up looking the way it does.

Craft, play, and artificial intelligence – three seemingly distant worlds that in architecture can merge into something entirely new.

At East Creative Conference 2025, Miroslav Naskov (Mind Design) will present Crafted Intelligence – an approach that blends intuition, technology, and narrative to shape deeply engaging spatial experiences.

Through case studies of built interiors, visionary concepts, and digital platforms, Miroslav will show how to:

• reinterpret heritage within contemporary projects (a five-star heritage hotel interior),
• experiment with the future of cities (the LA28 Olympic Village concept),
• create new models for education and collaboration (the immersive platform Dom World).

This will be a talk about architecture that refuses to stand still – an architecture that evolves into a creative, participatory, and profoundly human process.

Miroslav Naskov is a Bulgarian British visionary visonary the founder of Mind Design, a London-based studio, and co-founder of Dom World, an immersive digital platform for design exploration and  collaboration. Trained at the AA Design Research Lab (AADRL) and formerly with Zaha Hadid Architects and Populous, his work advances Crafted Intelligence, the convergence of craft, play, and AI.

Naskov’s projects span a 5-star heritage hotel interior, bespoke residences, and visionary research such as the LA28 Olympic Village (with Studio Tim Fu). His work has been featured in Forbes, Designboom, and on BTV National Television, and exhibited at Venice Design Week, the Zaha Hadid Gallery (as part of AADRL), AADRL20 (Building Centre), and UniArt Sofia.

Through Mind Design and Dom World, he is shaping an architecture that is emotionally resonant and technologically adaptive, positioning him among the emerging voices redefining the future of design.

Jan Wilk is a Polish architect and designer at London based minD Design studio. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Lublin University of Technology (WBiA).

Jan’s work includes collaborations on numerous projects with minD, interior design projects, and virtual 3D modelling courses in partnership with the Parametric Architecture platform. He is passionate about a fluid and elegant approach to contemporary design and architecture, believing that human comfort can be found in fluid and graceful shapes.

What happens when politics threatens to erase years of progress? In Moldova, the country’s IT Park – a lifeline for its growing tech industry –  was suddenly facing liquidation. The future of thousands of professionals and businesses was at stake.

At East Creative Conference, Andrei Tarnovski (Tarnovski Branding Studio, Romania & Moldova) will tell the story of how branding became more than marketing: it became survival. Through a clear strategy and powerful narrative, his team helped change perceptions, shift political decisions, and secure the Park’s future.

This talk will also highlight other projects that shaped Moldova’s image on the global stage:
– the national slogan “A small country with a big heart”
– the creative launch of the “9 Muses” wine brand

Andrei’s journey shows that branding is not just about logos and slogans – it’s about creating belief, uniting communities, and giving people the courage to embrace their own future. He will also share insights from other key projects, striving for international recognition.

Andrei Tarnovski is a Romanian and Moldovan brand strategist with over 15 years of experience guiding more than 100 brands through complex and often turbulent market landscapes. Together with his co-founder Victoria at TARNOVSKI Branding Studio, he has developed proprietary methodologies to help organizations in diverse sectors—from government and tech to real estate and banking—navigate uncertainty and establish market leadership.

His approach is uniquely shaped by his background in Marketing, Psychology, and a current MA in Philosophical Counselling, allowing him to decode the deep human motivations that drive brand success. A dedicated Brand Strategy Mentor at the International Advertising Association (IAA) Romania, Andrei is happy to help shape the next generation of professionals. His work, which includes collaborations with international organizations like UN Women, is a testament to his belief that a brand’s true power lies in its ability to change minds and build a shared vision for the future.

A product is not a thing—it is a world that people want to enter and stay in.

It is a concept that evokes emotions, responds to real needs, and creates an ecosystem around itself. A thing is only one of the modes, but a real product is a planned mechanism of experiences that make it indispensable and desirable.

During his speech at the East Creative 2025 conference, Edward Ruszczyc will show why product design is about designing an entire phenomenon, not just a material object.

During his talk at the East Creative 2025 conference, Paweł Breshke-Czyżewski will take participants behind the scenes of his work as a 3D vehicle designer.

Using examples such as the futuristic concept car created for the movie M3GAN 2.0 and the iconic Yaiba Kusanagi motorcycle from the game Cyberpunk 2077, he will show what the journey looks like from the first sketch to the final model that ends up on screen or in the virtual world. Participants will learn how to combine realism with artistic vision, how to collaborate with directors and development teams, and what tools are used today in the film and GameDev industries to create memorable vehicles.

Plener is a place dedicated to young people, consisting of modules with various functions that can be freely selected and adapted to their individual needs and capabilities. The main objective was to create a dedicated, safe space near secondary schools, where young people could spend time with their peers, while also having the opportunity to use the space as an outdoor classroom, a venue for school events, or special occasions.

Its varied structure creates multiple areas—both open and semi-open—that respond to the needs of youth. It provides opportunities for spending time and playing outdoors, relaxing in the shade of trees, and engaging in conversations with peer groups. I personally felt the need for such a place when I was a teenager.

I built the prototype project at my high school in response to the lack of any space dedicated to teenagers. I constructed it myself with the help of my brothers, having planned it during my architectural studies.

A conversation about how the creative industries shape the image and development of a region – from grassroots initiatives and institutional actions to international cooperation. The discussion will explore how local experience and creativity intersect with global trends, and how cross-sector collaboration can foster both cultural and economic growth.

Why does Lublin attract filmmakers? How does its urban landscape influence storytelling? And when do production designers choose to reshape the city, and when do they rely on its unaltered reality?

Since 2009, the Lublin Film Fund, operating within the City Hall, has been responsible for shaping the city’s visual presence in film. Lublin rarely appears as itself – more often it becomes a universal setting for diverse narratives. Łukasz Borkowski will present a visual study of scenes from Zieja, 1670 S02, Foundation S03, Dziewczyna i Kosmonauta, Kamienie na Szaniec, Przysięga Ireny, Prawdziwy ból, as well as campaigns including McDonald’s Drwal and Rebel Moon.

How does a small studio turn a self-published book into a globally successful TV series? Anna Glowik, Head of Production at Letko (PL), takes us behind the scenes of Odo— a Polish-Irish animated TV series for preschoolers. What started as a local project has now been sold in over 150 countries, with a total of 104 episodes produced. Odo is an example of the power of international collaboration. With the support of co-production partner Sixteen South (IE), the project has evolved into a worldwide hit.

Anna will walk you through Letko studio’s development, revealing how a young animation studio from Warsaw navigated co-production, overcame challenges, and grew into a major player in the global animation industry.

Kamil Rutkowski and Maciej Mika from Black Photon will take the audience behind the scenes of the post-production process for Quebonafide’s musical Północ Południe, which premiered in sync with a live concert at Warsaw’s National Stadium. They will share insights on working in conditions of extreme time pressure, where flexibility, rapid decision-making, and advanced technologies were essential.

The talk will cover key stages of the process: color grading as a tool to shape mood and ensure visual consistency, advanced VFX, 2D and 3D animation, and physics simulations. A central theme will be the role of AI, which opened new creative possibilities in crafting visual effects.

Kamil and Maciej will also reflect on the live concert itself – its production, major challenges, and the solutions that enabled merging a film premiere with a large-scale stage performance.

This is the story of a project where art and technology converged to deliver one of Poland’s most ambitious artistic experiences in recent years.

A meeting with Marta Czerkies – personal branding expert, mentor, and designer, known for her appearances on “Kupione i co dalej?” (Bought – What’s Next?, Domo+ / Netflix).

During her talk, Marta will share how combining her experience in design and television has helped her create a consistent and authentic professional image. She will also discuss her collaboration with BEFAME, the Main Partner of East Creative – a brand with which she shares a common vision of quality, durability, and respect for craftsmanship.

Participants will learn how these shared values translate into building a strong personal brand and designing spaces where beauty meets functionality. Through her projects, Marta consistently proves that Polish premium brands make it possible to create interiors that are elegant, comfortable, and timeless.

Meet Łukasz Gandecki – a Creative Technologist and innovator with over 15 years of experience, who has tackled complex challenges for global brands including Audi, the European Investment Bank, T-Mobile, and 2K Games. His open-source tools (some recommended by Facebook) reach millions of downloads every month.

In his talk “Books Reimagined”, Łukasz will show how Polish approach to technology and design are shaping a new medium that bridges the tradition of reading with futuristic technology.

You’ll see live how technology that didn’t exist just a few years ago now allows us to “converse” with books, understand them on a deeper level, and –  for the first time in modern history – make Shakespeare’s works fully comprehensible in the original for everyone. It’s a story about combining a passion for literature with AI engineering to reinvent one of the oldest and most important forms of communication.

Meet Jacek Rudzki @znajomygrafik – the author of this year’s East Creative visual identity (you’ll hear more about it during the event), father of five-year-old Maja.
By day he’s a Senior Brand Designer at Tonik; after hours he freelances, designing for record labels, artists and cultural institutions. He combines digital projects with hand-drawn work. For fun, he runs the virtual club HOM and collects graphic ephemera as Graphictrash, as well as 7-inch vinyl labels as @7.0in_17.78cm.

In his talk, “Work/life in progress,” Jacek will reflect on how work seeps into everyday life – and how everyday life seeps back into work. He’ll explore how design can be both just a job, and at the same time something much more – sometimes even the best thing in the world.

Can creativity be reduced to a formula and described by an equation? And if so – what are its secret ingredients?

This is the question that Gosia Rygalik will reflect on – designer and educator, partner at Studio Rygalik. She is the co-founder of DesignNature – an interdisciplinary community with a campus and event program in Sobole, as well as president of the Sobole Foundation focused on design and culture. Enthusiast of cooking, dancing, and meeting people. A seeker of creative flow at the intersection of diverse fields.

The life of an entrepreneur is not just about “doing business”; it is about multitasking and managing yourself and your own company. Often, the business is us. The quality of our business depends on how well we take care of ourselves. A tired entrepreneur will not sell, because their energy will not work. During the workshop, we will look at the areas that are a “must have” for every entrepreneur who wants to operate effectively and not burn out within a few years of running a business. We will touch on elements of time management and mental resilience in order to support the management of one’s own energy on four levels of functioning. If you want your business to grow without getting lost, this workshop is for you.

For 20 years, as a psychologist and coach, she has been professionally supporting people in developing their potential. She helps them feel comfortable in their roles and, at the same time, open up to new challenges. She strengthens self-esteem and the power to act, accompanying people in discovering their talents. She helps to purify what is unnecessary and creates ballast in life – with lightness and based on her own truth.

She holds a PhD in Psychology and is an ICF-certified coach at the Professional Certified Coach (PCC), Erickson Certified Professional Coach (ECPC), and Senior Practitioner EMCC levels. She is also a certified FRIS® trainer. She works with IFS methods. She has completed, among others, the Logotherapy Course at the International Association of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis at the Victor Frankl Institute Vienna and Institute of Biofeedback and Noo-psychosomatic, the Basic Course in Solution-Focused Therapy (TSR I) and the NOVO Team and Group Coaching School. In addition, she is a Coaching Supervisor.

The workshops are held in Polish, without the possibility of translation.

The training focuses on how entrepreneurs can use AI and modern technologies in everyday business management and building competitive advantage.

Participants will learn about specific tools for automating sales and marketing, analyzing data, optimizing processes, and making better strategic decisions. The training combines examples from business practice with workshops that will allow participants to translate the knowledge they have gained into actions in their companies starting the very next day.

He conducts strategic audits, training, and consulting projects, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in their business development. As a certified trainer, he combines knowledge of business and modern technologies, offering practical solutions tailored to the challenges of his clients.

Paweł is an active speaker at conferences, webinars, and academic events, shares his knowledge through social media, and conducts training on the application of AI and technology in business. His passion is startup development, mentoring leaders, and scaling companies based on modern technologies and a strategic approach to management.
